Today's Tip

Upgrade To Folding Tires For A Better Ride - Looking for an inexpensive way to improve your bike's speed and handling? Would you pay $10 to $20 if it would knock 1/2 to 3/4 of a pound off your bike and drastically improve the ride? We thought so. All you've got to do is upgrade to Kevlar-bead tires (also known as folding tires). They cost $5 to $10 per tire more than wire-bead tires (non-folding models), but they'll strip 60 to 80 grams per tire off your total wheel weight, and make your bike accelerate and climb like never before. How? Tire weight affects bike response about twice as much as frame or component weight because the tires are rotating weight located at the perimeter of the wheels where you feel it most. As an added bonus, there's no durability difference between folding and non-folding tires so they'll last just as long. Contact us and we'll help you pick out tires that meet your needs and budget.
